Views: “I’m shocked and saddened to see the demise of Crosby Village”

This cartoon commenting on Sainsbury’s plans to rebuild their store in Crosby Village was sent to us by Fred Sumner, of Moor Close, Crosby. He said: “By being a Crosby resident and shopper for the past 26 years, I'm as shocked and saddened as the rest of them to witness the quickening demise of our village centre as it slithers with apparent increasing momentum towards seemingly inevitable oblivion. Will the council take the opportunity to firmly ‘grasp the nettle?’ Future potential benefits far outweigh the unthinkable consequence of indecision.” If you would like to send your photos or cartoons to us at the Herald, please email us at: newsdesk@crosbyherald.co.uk or join our Flickr group at Flickr group page at www.flickr.com/ groups/scenebyyou Code NARead
