IT WAS all action at Sephton Farm on Sunday and that man Darren Tierney came out on top once again.
Fishing 16m pole with paste and meat, he caught carp weighing in at 57lb 4oz.
Close behind was Andy Bridge fishing method and pole for 52lb 4oz. In third spot with a fantastic all silver fish catch on 6m pellet was Danny Potter with 30lb 5oz. Matches are every Sunday with the draw at 9am.
Other good catches this week have been at Six Fields Fishery, with carp plentiful on all baits.
Tench to 8lb are in this fishery so expect the odd rod bender.
Carrs Farm at Ince Blundell is in great form for carp anglers with 20lb fish being plentiful. Floating baits are a deadly method at this day ticket fishery.
Firsdwood Fishery is Skelmersdale is fishing well on paste.
Lots of hard fighting carp and tench with the odd large bream. Great fishing at Heapy Lodges with number one lodge producing large carp and bream. Number two lodge is also good but it’s very deep so ledger is best.
Mescar fishing well on paste using pole tactics. Method works well on pellet and sweetcorn.
White Rails fishery at Ormskirk is producing carp to 14lb and also tench to corn. Not many pegs to fish so go early. Day tickets on the bank.
Lathom Fisheries in Burscough is very good with lots of chub to 5lb up in the water. Worm is a great bait for these fish, catches of more than 50lb are common.
Drummersdale Fishery is good on sweetcorn and pellet. Float and dredger tactics are working very well.
Bannister Farm is in top form on paste and pellet with more than 100lb catches on matches. Well worth a visit, night fishing is allowed at this venue.
Docks are producing lotsof thornback rays to sandeel and fish baits. River Douglas is good for flatties at Banks.
The odd bass at Hall Road but fishing is generally slow. The Mersey is producing Rays at Marina’s Wharf on bullnose.
