Marine land powerhouse
MARINE added strength and experience to their defence this week with the signing of a player well used to silverware.
Michael Jackson put pen to paper to complete his move from Welsh Premier League side Caernarfon Town.
The addition of the 29-year-old stopper to his squad has delighted team manager, Kevin Lynch.
“Michael is a great signing for us, adding to the spine of the team,” Lynch said.
“I have been trying really hard to sign Michael and him choosing Marine ahead of other clubs in higher divisions shows how we as a club are moving forward.
“I hope his leadership qualities will rub off on the players around him.”
As a full-time professional, Jackson played a major part in the title-winning TNS team that won back-to-back Welsh Premier League titles in 2006 and 2007.
It was while he was at TNS that Jackson played against Liverpool in two Champions League qualifying matches in 2005.
Jackson also played for FC Prottur in the Icelandic first division and for Finnish outfit MyPa-47.
No stranger to silverware, the Liverpool-born centre-back also won the Welsh league crown with Rhyl in 2003-04 after signing from Southport.
His career in the principality also included a spell at Welshpool Town.
