KEVIN Lynch has declared he would love the Marine FC manager’s job on a full-time basis.
Club captain Lynch and defender Phil Brazier have been appointed as caretaker managers of the Mariners following Alvin McDonald’s sensational sacking on Monday night.
The Arriva Stadium outfit are welcoming applications for the position of Whites’ boss but Lynch has already declared he would love the job permanently.
Though the 33-year-old failed to hide his delight at being given the position until the end of the season at least, he admitted he was sad to see McDonald lose his job.
Lynch said: “Obviously I have got a good relationship with Alvin and it is unfortunate what has happened but sometimes this is the only way you get an opportunity. I hope to get his blessing.
“The opportunity offered to me was too good to turn down, Marine is such a fantastic club with massive potential and it is a shame we have slumped to where we are - it is a big shame but I am relishing the task.
“I am getting older and getting into management is something I would love to do because it is something I am passionate about. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to manage a fantastic club with fantastic support. I would be a fool not to take the job permanently if it were offered to me but it is early days and I will be honest with the chairman and committee as well as myself.”
