WATERLOO’S under-13s team is celebrating after winning the Lancashire Rugby Plate.

Sunday’s final turned out to be a classic encounter.

After a tense start, Waterloo eased ahead to lead 15-0 at the interval thanks to tries from Sean Wise, Dan Morris and Paddy Whitehead.

After the break, Tarleton came back very strongly to move within five points of levelling the thrilling final.

However, Waterloo defended superbly in the last few minutes to keep out a determined Tarleton team and claim the silverware.
