THIS was a gritty display from the Whites after a couple of disappointing results and the boys showed great character.

It was a tense first half as both sides pushed forward.

Waddicar’s midfield tried to impose themselves but Kieran Vis and Matt Richardson were up to the task and it was Matt who fired the Whites ahead with a beautiful strike from just outside the box.

Waddicar went for it in the second half and man-of-the-match Hugh Page had to make a string of superb saves.

Matty Howarth and Best Effort winner Joe Winstanley worked tirelessly in defence as did Jay Dewsbury and Thomas Lee upfront.

In the closing minutes, the Whites made the points safe after a great Dan Reid solo effort.
