A CHURCH service for Madeleine McCann, which took place in Crosby, was a great success according to her relatives.
The service was organised by churches together in Crosby and took place at St Luke’s Church, Liverpool Road.
As with previous services for the missing toddler hundreds of people showed up to show their support.
Supporters donated money towards the ‘Find Madeleine Fund’ and raising £122.55. At a previous service at Holy Name Fazakerley, they raised £418.53.
People from all faiths attended the service, which was also in aid of all other lost children.
St Luke’s choir performed songs and other children form Crosby primary and senior schools took parts in prayers and hymns.
Linda and Mark McQueen, Godparents to Madeleine’s brother Sean, attended the service along with Madeleine’s grandparents and many friends.
Ellie, Linda and Mark’s daughter, led other children to put prayers they had written into a box for Madeleine’s grandparents to keep.
Linda said: “It was a fantastic turn out again and it was a really really lovely service.
“It was very good of the church to do the service and I am grateful to everyone who was involved.”
