Watson hat-trick as Sharks are bitten by Tigers

Litherland Tigers Under 11s 3 TMS 3

THE game started evenly with both side creating good chances early on. TMS were first to score, when the ball was hit from a tight angle to beat Paddy.

Tigers continued to play some nice football and were rewarded when Tom broke through on the right hand side, skipped past a few challenges and scored to make it 1-1.

Continuing to press, Tigers won a free kick about 30 yards out.

Michael Bailey fired it into the back of the net to make it 2-1.

Just before half-time, TMS failed to clear and it fell to Tom to score his second of the game to make it 3-1.

The second half found the Tigers under immense pressure and unfortunately failed to keep their hard fought lead when two quick fire goals brought things level.

IT WAS Snow who after an inspired bit of wing play delivered an excellent deep cross into the box on 5 minutes where Niall Watson got in front of his marker and stabbed home for an early lead.

Josef Cass doubled the lead with a clever turn and flick to almost back heel the ball into the net.

Niall Watson then beat 3 defenders before burying the ball in off the far post with a well placed shot from a tight angle for 3-0.

Two minutes into the half saw another piece of individual skill when Jordan Lang swung in a corner that curled away, past the startled keeper and nestled into the far corner for 4-0.

Murphy found himself upended out on the left wing and the resulting free kick, taken by Lewis King sailed high up over the keeper for 5-0.

A quick break from Core and Chapman released Copeland who burst forward and gave a great pass into the feet of Lewis King who cut in on his left foot and finished with aplomb on 40 minutes.

Some great pass and move play, straight from the training ground saw Henri Brown grab a deserved goal with a near post finish.

Again lots of changes were made with some positional alterations too and the re introduction of Niall Watson saw the hitman grab his treble with a fine header at the back post.
