Latest news and reports from Forefield’s junior football teams

Forefield Rangers U10s v Dynamo Burscough U10s

WITH only nine players available and playing the league champions on a very heavy pitch, the boys struggled to get the ball out of their own half in the first period.

There was not much football played but Dynamo still went in at half-time with a good lead.

In the second period, however, the boys performed a lot better and tried their best to attack and did create some chances.

All the boys worked extremely hard in the tough conditions and kept on trying right to the very end.

Special mentions go to Adam Fairclough and Dan Price who must have been very tired at the end of the game due to their efforts.

Man-of-the-match was awarded to Ben Dooley.

Forefield Sharks U13sv Litherland Tigers U13s

SHARKS were well beaten by the table- toppers; their tough task was made even harder with three regular centre-backs missing, forcing a re-shuffle.

The first 10 minutes saw Sharks hold their own and play some neat football but occasional slack defending let the Tigers in who punished them ruthlessly.

The game went away from Sharks although, to their credit, not a single head went down.

In the end it was put down to an experience to take on the chin and then move on.
