Northern Hockey Club keen to recruit more players, coaches and volunteers

NORTHERN Hockey Club who are celebrating the recent investment of a brand new pitch facility are looking to recruit new players, coaches and club development volunteers.

The club is looking for players of all abilities, age and experience to help increase their squad sizes.

The Northern Club, founded in 1859, is a highly-successful, family-orientated club that over the years has seen a lot of growth.

However, the time has now come to recruit more players. Three men’s and two ladies' teams are currently fielded each week. In addition there are junior Badgers and Beavers sides developing the next generation of hockey players.

Senior training currently takes place on Tuesdays from 7pm-8pm and under-16s on Sundays from 10.30am-12pm.

Coaching is run by enthusiastic, CRB-checked and qualified coaches.

The club’s facilities include an all-weather Astroturf pitch, clubhouse and access to additional sports sections including squash, racquetball, bowls and cricket making this club a popular social venue with regular events held to engage with members across all teams and all ages.

The club is the perfect place for both those who want to get involved in training, competitive games, coaching, socialising or volunteering to support with general club development and growth. New members in 2013 are offered 50% off the first year membership.
