AN EMPHATIC afternoon for Rangers saw them score nine goals in the first half followed by another eight in the second.

FROM the start Forefield went straight after the opposition with Matty Graham producing a fine cross which Ben Dooley headed in from close range.

This triggered more goals and some terrific finishing from Matty and Ben enabled Forefield to go into the break with a comfortable lead.

In the second-half the team's shape was changed around which enabled the boys to play in different positions.

Alex Smith moved to attack and scored his first ever hat-trick with some confident finishing.

The changes showed how far the team has progressed as this did not affect the performance.

Even regular goalkeeper Ben Evans came out of goal and had a fine game in defence.

Goalscorers were Ben Dooley (5), Matty Graham (4), Alex Smith (3), Luke Stocks and Luke Heeson.

Man-of-the-match was awarded to Luke Stocks.

HONOURS were even in this thoroughly enjoyable game played out in driving rain.

Sharks played some great football in the opening half but trailed at the break to a fine Blue Anchor opener.

They stuck to their task manfully and got their reward when Gary Corran's accurate corner was helped on by Lucas Hughes and turned into the net by Aiden Obey.

The game then went from end to end in a frantic finale as both teams went for the win.

Ryan Hodson made an absolutely outstanding save, somehow pushing a goalbound shot onto the underside of the bar; the clearance was completed by Jack Lawless who had a commanding game in his new position in centre of defence.

There were too many candidates for man-of-the-match so the whole squad takes the award.
