Chesterfield High School’s Melissa Clarke honoured for netball successes

CHESTERFIELD High School in Crosby presented Year 12 student Melissa Clarke with the Mally Best Netball Award at the annual prizegiving evening.

“The honour was given for her overall achievements in netball over the five years,” deputy headteacher Mike Treanor said.

“Melissa has been a fantastic servant to all sports, during her time at Chesterfield, but has really excelled in netball.

“She has captained the teams for three years leading them to many successes in Sefton and Merseyside netball competitions.

“Melissa also achieved her High Five netball umpiring qualification, coordinated through the school and has successfully officiated at the Sefton Primary Schools High Five tournament.”

When receiving the award Melissa said: “I would like to thank Miss Sara Hardman, my physical education teacher for all the support she has given to me over the years and for making netball so enjoyable.

“She has been fantastic.”
