THE Crosby & District Sunday Football League resumed after the Christmas break – and what a start for Saltbox who came from 2-0 down against unbeaten Laburnum to win 3-2 and end their flawless record.

Paul Kelly and Carl Hanson had given Laburnum a 2-0 interval lead, but a goal each from Carl Ennis and John Maguire drew Saltbox level and a screaming 25-yard shot from John Maguire near full-time gave Saltbox their three points.

Despite the defeat, The Laburnum still lead the division by nine points.

Second-placed Oak Tree Pub won 5-2 at home to Mottram with Dominic Bird scoring two.

Despite a hat-trick from Ryan Bromillow, Brookfield lost 7-4 to Reunion with Keith Houghton scoring a brace plus one each from Paul O'Brien, Jason Peters and Ashton Clements.

In the only other game played, Kirkstone and St William of York played out a 1-1 draw with Joe Morley scoring for Kirkstone and Mark Ainsworth for St William.
