Loan signing Danny Mitchley in Marine FC squad for Eastwood Town game

NEW loan signing Danny Mitchley will be in the squad for Saturday’s match with Eastwood Town after missing the win over Blyth Spartans to be at the birth of his child.

The Altrincham striker has joined the Mariners until the beginning of January and must now try and fight for a place in a team who hit five goals last time out.

Manager Kevin Lynch was thrilled with the manner in which Marine thumped Blyth Spartans last weekend after voicing his displeasure about the midweek display against Southport.

Lynch made a number of changes for the Blyth match and was rewarded with the biggest win of the season which took them up to third in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table.

On Saturday, Marine travel to the side bottom of the league but Lynch has been quick to ward off any notion that the game will be routine.

“We made some changes for the game and the lads who came in did really well,” said Lynch.

“I wasn’t happy with the Southport game on the Tuesday because we played it like a pre-season friendly. And with Blyth having a bit of a journey to get to the game, I felt we needed to start with high energy. It paid off.”

Although Lynch admits it would be hard to change a winning side, he has not ruled out tweaking with the starting line-up.

“Danny has been looking sharp in training and will be in the squad.

“I have tried just picking the same team again and it does not always work. We have to look at Eastwood and how they play at their place.

“We have players who can adapt to changes in formation. We are certainly not a one-trick pony. We will not be taking Eastwood lightly at all. We have drawn with sides at that end of the table already this season.”

Jon Goulding serves the final game of his two-match ban.
