THE Sharks fought out a well-earned draw in this entertaining game in which every player played a full part.

Somehow, the interval saw them trailing 1-0 after they had forced Bootle onto the back foot for most of the game, winning corner after corner and playing for long spells in their opponents’ half.

Sharks came out flying for the second half and great goals from Gary Corran and Jack Lawless gave them a deserved lead.

However, near the end of the game, Sharks gave away a needless free-kick from which Bootle equalised.

All in all this was a very good performance.

Liam Moran, playing his first full game of the season in goal, was man of the match. He never put a foot wrong, put in a brave display and took a few knocks for the team.

FOREFIELD progressed to the third round of the All-Dvisions Cup with a hard-fought win on a mud-bath of a pitch.

On 20 minutes, Goose Green took the lead after the ball failed to be cleared in the box and, despite several chances and shots on goal, Forefield struggled to find the equaliser.

Eventually Jack Fanning prodded home after good work by Dominic Spence just before the break.

The second-half was nip and tuck and looked to be heading beyond the 90 minutes.

With only minutes remaining, the Goose Green keeper parried a Kieran Kelly header to the feet of Jonathan Furlong who forced the ball across the goal line.
