Visiter gives away five pairs of tickets to Southport’s first-ever Clothes Show

FIVE lucky readers are being offered the chance to win a pair of tickets for the first ever Southport Clothes Show.

The event, which is being organised by Southport-based modelling agency GModels, will take place on Sunday, March 24 at the Floral Hall in Southport’s Theatre and Convention Centre.

GModel’s director Lisa Hames believes that the Clothes Show will be a major event in the run-up to the release of the fashion world’s spring and summer collections.

It will see Southport follow in the footsteps of some of the north west’s biggest cities and Lisa has already confirmed a number of celebrities will be making an appearance.

Neighbours actress Nicola Charles will be just one of the familiar faces on the day.

The Australian beauty has been named as the new face of Salix Alba UK, a Lake District-based company which produces natural anti-ageing products.

Former Hollyoaks star Kent Riley – who appeared as the prince in Southport’s Christmas pantomime – will be one of the 24 GModels strutting their stuff on the catwalk throughout the event.

Leading BMW and MINI sales group Halliwell Jones has been named as the Clothes Show’s official sponsors, and Southport-based businesses Nails by Dorothy Mae, Model Me and Toni & Guy will be taking over the hair and make-up of the models.

From noon-6pm, the models will take to the catwalk to showcase some of the top name brands from Southport and surrounding areas.

There will also be live on-stage entertainment that includes stilt-walkers, cocktail flarers and even an aerial act performing from the ceiling.

Throughout the day, there will be a range of different exhibitors ranging from boutiques to children’s clothing, hair, beauty and accessories.

A percentage of ticket sales will be donated to the Steven Gerrard Foundation which was set up by the Liverpool player in 2011 in a bid to help disadvantaged children.

Lisa said: “It will be the place for fashionistas to have a great time – from seeing fashion shows from local, national and international established brands to the exciting work of upcoming designers, everyone who is anyone will want to be front row!

“Southport Clothes Show will be working with the very best names to ensure that this very chic town is put well and truly on the style map, and I am really excited to be involved.

“Along with all the latest new season looks, Southport Clothes Show will showcase the region's best models, hair and make-up creative teams, so that every attendee will be in no doubt as to what the most covetable trends are for 2013.”
