Two hurt in Thornton car crash

A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a three-vehicle crash.

It happened at about 9.25am at Ince Lane’s junction with Park Wall Road, in Thornton, yesterday.

A man and woman, both thought to be in their 20s, were freed from a black Fiat Punto by firefighters.

The man was taken by air ambulance to Fazakerley Hospital suffering suspected neck and leg injuries and the woman to Southport Hospital with chest pain.

Police said their injuries were not thought to be serious.

The crash also involved a car and a van.

The road reopened at about 11am.
