Chesterfield High and Sacred Heart students with their French partners from Lycée Bellevue
Chesterfield High School recently welcomed a group of 25 French students from Lycée Bellevue in Saintes in Western France in partnership with Sacred Heart Catholic College. This exchange involved students in Year 11 and Year 12 with a view to improving both their language skills and their inter-cultural understanding.
The French students in particular enjoyed their time in lessons and were delighted by the welcome they received from their new partner schools whilst Chesterfield students were put through their paces communicating and translating on a daily basis. The exchange included a trip to Liverpool to visit the new museum of Liverpool and the big wheel, which was a great success. The return visit will take place in April and the schools are already busy planning the trip, which will include visits to La Rochelle and Bordeaux.
