Fashionable Crosby businessman brings Thai tailoring to his hometown

A CROSBY man is bringing a taste of Thai style to Merseyside.

Phillip Hunt, of Parklands Way, spent two years in Bangkok where he developed an interest in Thai tailoring.

On his return to Crosby, the fashionable 46-year-old decided to use his expertise to set up Suit Yourself Suits, a made to measure service importing bespoke suits to fellow businessmen.

“Basically we have brought Bangkok tailoring to Merseyside,” explained Philip.

“We visit clients at work or at home at a time to suit them. We go out and show samples of our suits along with our many different styles of fabric, which they can choose from.We then give the client over 40 options of styling their own suit.

“We then take all the measurements of the client and place the order with our tailor in Bangkok.”

Phillip, whose clients include solicitors, lawyers and accountants, said he learnt a lot from his time in Bangkok.

He said: “I could write a book about my time in Bangkok.

“It’s a great city with some scary stuff but overall I had a fantastic time, meeting lots of different people and going to some amazing places.

“I lived with my friend Dave, who is from Michigan, and he controls all the shipping and quality control over there.”

Phillip is now hoping to develop a suit subscription service for students and start importing cotton shirts from Egypt.
