Energy Alliance’s Sefton Sorted scheme was launched in December and publicised in the local area with their ad van and an event at St Leonard’s Community Rooms. This led to almost 330 homes signing up to the scheme.
The scheme is offering eligible households the chance to benefit from Energy Alliance’s CESP scheme, (a community energy savings programme), with funds of up to £17,000 of free energy savings improvements which include external wall insulation, loft insulation, new central heating and draft proofing.
Energy Alliance has funding for potentially another 400 homes to participate in the scheme but householders need to come forward to see if they are eligible to join before the funds are spent.
CESP schemes are often limited to residents in social housing but the Sefton Sorted scheme is not restricted so homeowners and those in rented accommodation could still qualify. Energy Alliance is inviting landlords to enquire to see whether any property they let out may be eligible.
All work is provided by national company, Hamilton Construction working with local business, Warmer Energy who are based in Knowsley. More information and a map of qualifying streets can be found at www.seftonsorted.co.uk or by calling freephone 0800 644 5100.
