TWO masked murderers burned out a second car after killing a Merseyside dad on his driveway.
Jason Osu, 31, was shot in his Mercedes outside his house on Beauclair Drive in Wavertree in a gangland-style hit at around 5.30pm on Monday, November 19.
The financial trader lost his six-day fight for life in the early hours of Monday.
A post mortem confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds to his skull, face, chest and arms.
The ECHO can today reveal the timeline of events before the murder and the full details of the escape route taken by the killers.
Senior investigator Detective Superintendent Mike Shaw told the ECHO: “This man was a son, a brother and a father who was shot in his driveway with no means of defending himself by two masked men who, in my opinion, were intent on killing him.
“His family are grieving for his loss and we have launched a major investigation to bring those responsible to justice.”
Detectives believe that for up to 40 minutes before the shooting, the masked men were lying in wait in a stolen black Citroen C4 on Beauclair Drive.
Mr Shaw said: “Jason was pulling on to the drive of his house, when the two men both with handguns, have shot him in his car around 5.30pm.
“They have then got back into their vehicle and driven into the area of Waldgrave Road a mile away and set fire to the Citroen.”
Officers believe the two men then crossed a small footbridge over a railway line leading into Warnerville Road, Old Swan.
