Money thrown from get-away car during police Bootle police chase

CASH was thrown from a car being chased by police after a post office robbery.

Two security guards were allegedly threatened with a knife and a hand gun, thought to have been a starter pistol.

The robbery happened outside Boaler Street post office, in Kensington, Liverpool.

The raiders escaped in a car heading towards Bootle, with police in pursuit.

As the suspect vehicle drove in the Fernhill Road area, money was thrown from the window.

Witnesses described seeing children running after the car, picking up the money from the side of the road.

Police confirmed a bag of coins was thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit.

The chase ended with the car crashing in to the side of Cashen's off-licence, at Linacre Lane’s junction with Litherland Road.
