RECEPTION pupils at Merchant Taylors’ tried their hand at making dough when the bakers from Sainsbury’s in Crosby recently visited the School. Bakery Manager, Richie Roberts, and Baker, Peter Hawkins, showed the boys and girls how to knead, roll and shape the dough.
They brought along a bread wheat sheaf and tractor to show the children the amazing things that can be crafted from dough.
Everyone had a smashing time, literally, as they were shown how to pat the dough into shape.
Sainsbury’s kindly also brought along a batch of freshly baked jam doughnuts for teachers and pupils, to enjoy afterwards.
