OH NO it isn’t! Oh yes it is! It’s panto time again and the Waterloo & Crosby Theatre Company is back at The Civic, Crosby with its 31st annual pantomime and everyone’s favourite: “Cinderella”. With a cast of over 30 local adults and children, together with dancers from Laura Elizabeth Dance studios, this year’s panto promises to put a real sparkle in the run-up to Christmas!
Written by the talented Roy Hartley, who was last seen at the Civic in the Company’s hilarious September production of “Not Now Darling”, and directed by Pamela Foy, who was also the director of the aforesaid farce, this year’s pantomime once again promises good traditional family entertainment of a consistently high standard and at a modest cost.
The choreographer this year is Laura Birch, who also takes on the role of Prince Charming whilst, in the title role, the Company welcomes back the talented Alexandra Appleton who has played many previous principal boys and girls . The ugly sisters, Biggeta and Grimma, will be played by Les Longley [fresh from his triumph as Arnold Crouch in “Not Now Darling”] and Darren Hilton with experienced comic actress, Elspeth Fisher, as their mother the Baroness. Cinderella’s faithful companion, Buttons, sees long-standing youth member, David Johnson, in his first leading role.
“Cinderella” runs from Friday November 30 to Saturday December 1 and from Friday December 7 to Sunday December 9 with matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are priced at £9 [£7 concessions] with Family Tickets at £30 and can be obtained directly from the Civic Hall Box Office-0151 928 1919 or on line from www.seftonarts.co.uk.
