Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School conquer Three Peaks Challenge

A GROUP of intrepid boys and staff from Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School have spent the first few days of half term conquering the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, all within 26 hours.

The boys, who are all in Year 12, climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and covered over 10,000 feet during the Three Peak Challenge. The challenge was arranged as part of the boys’ preparation for an Operation Wallace expedition to Mexico in the summer of 2013.

The aim was to develop teamwork skills and prepare the boys for the physical challenges that they will have to overcome during the scientific conservation expedition. Each of the boys was encouraged to fundraise for the event. Some of the money raised will go towards funding the trip and some will be donated to UK charities.
