CROSBY Coastal Park is defined as the open space between Seaforth Docks and Hightown.
A Crosby Coastal Park Master Plan is currently being developed involving work that would cost several millions of pounds to complete.
A number of projects have already been developed in the park in the past few years, aimed at increasing the status of the coastal park.
These include the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre and the Antony Gormley Iron Men statues.
There are also a number of ongoing improvements to the Marine Lake and surrounding footpaths as well as the proposed Big Lottery Fund Play Area, which is expected to be built in time for the summer.
In January 2007, Sefton’s Cabinet recommended a Crosby Coastal Park Master Plan be updated and that a phased development programme should be produced.
Consultations over the past few months with residents, councillors and community groups indicated there is strong support for a master plan to be developed.
