Jospice prepares to launch its first ever Santa Dash
HOLD onto your Santa hats, because Jospice has got a fantastic festive fundraiser lined up for you!
Christmas will come early for the charity on Sunday, November 29 when it hosts its first ever Sponsored Santa Dash.
Sprightly Santas will set off at 10am from Formby Pool on Elbow Lane, and embark on a sponsored run to raise money for Jospice.
The local hospice offers its vital service of caring for the terminally ill without charge to the patients, and the majority of its funding has to be raised locally.
The Santa Dash course is a comfortable 2km, and it is not vital to dash – a brisk walk or a gentle stroll will be just as good, as long as the Santas are sponsored, to boost funds for the cause.
Anyone who would like to enter individually, as a team or with their family will need to register with Jospice by calling 0151 932 6035 or emailing enquiries@jospice.org.uk
The entry fee is £10 for adults, £5 for children under 15 and £20 for a family of two adults and two youngsters.
Santa dogs are welcome to come along free, but must be on a lead at all times.
The fee covers entrance to the event, sponsor forms and a Santa costume, which will be available on the day, with a Santa hat or antlers for children. Potential entrants with limited mobility should contact the fundraising department.
Santa Dashers who travel to Formby by rail will have their names entered into a free draw with a prize of free transport on Merseyrail for a year.
Pat added: “It is sure to be a lot of fun – one more way to put the fun into fundraising, have a healthy walk, and raise money for a really local good cause.”
