Crosby man escapes war in Sri Lanka and Tamil Tiger violence to be targeted by racists in Liverpool
The windows at his Warbreck Moor business are peppered with holes from the stones the gang throw at the shop, and Nathan’s dream of a better life in Britain is being ruined.
He said: “I am scared. You just wonder what they will do next. It is such a shame because the Aintree community is a good one.
“I am working 60 hours a week and I do feel this tiny group of people are making my life a misery. The attack on my van lets me know the gang are targeting me again, and I really do fear another arson attack soon.
“All I want to do is work hard and enjoy a better life in this country.”
A Merseyside Police Spokesperson said: “Specialist officers have been working closely with Mr Yogeswaran and action has been taken whenever he has reported offences. This has resulted in several arrests being made. Officers will continue to offer Mr Yogeswaran, and all victims of hate crime support to reassure them that Merseyside Police will not tolerate crime of this nature.”
