Arson attack linked to terror campaign against Crosby businessman Terry Riley
A TERRACED house was the latest property targeted in the terror campaign against Crosby businessman Terry Riley and his associate John Ball.
The house on Gonville Road, Bootle, was hit by an arson attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Neighbours spoke of hearing strange noises, before the empty property's front door was engulfed in flames.
The Crosby Herald understands the terrace house belongs to the Ascot Group, which is owned by Mr Riley.
One elderly resident, who did not wish to be named for fear of reprisal, said: “I have lived in this house for decades and you simply do not get this kind of thing on Gonville.
"It has shocked a lot of people.
“A woman who lives further down the road dialled 999. It is a good job she spotted it in time.
"The flames could have spread next door.
