Man dumped at Crosby Marina remains in hospital

ONE of the men who was abducted and dumped at Crosby Marina remains in hospital following the ordeal.

The 48-year-old, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire was kidnapped along with a 52-year-old man from Barnsley, South Yorkshire who has since been released from Aintree Hospital following treatment. The 48-year-old’s condition is described as stable.

The men are believed to have been abducted and savagely attacked 80 miles away outside a takeaway in the Broadway area of Lupset at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 7.

Merseyside Police were called at around 9.30pm after the men were found dumped near to the marina.

Following the discovery the pathway from Marine Terrace to the lake was cordoned off and there was a heavy police presence while an investigation was carried out. Police are appealing for any sightings of a silver Citroen Berlingo van, registration GV55 EFD, believed to have been used in the abduction and since recovered in Liverpool.

Police also want to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity around the marina later that night.
