Wildlife fun for all at St Luke’s Church

MORE than 150 people gathered at St Luke’s Church to get stuck in at its wildlife activity morning.

Parents and children joined in with a series of wildlife based activities including a treasure hunt, making log piles and planting a wildflower meadow.

Indoors they created imaginative miniature gardens, decorated cotton bags and took part in an eco-quiz.

The morning was supported by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and the Sefton park rangers.

Co-ordinator of the event, Steve Matthews, said: “We are delighted that so many people were able to learn more about nature both indoors and outdoors.

“Parents commented that it was a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning.

“The children themselves thought it was so much fun.

“We want to say a big thank you to our fantastic team of volunteers and to The Mersey Forest for sponsoring the morning's activities.”
