The British Musical Fireworks Championships take place in Southport September 28-30

THE countdown is on until seven prestigious pyrotechnic companies light up Southport as part of the British Musical Fireworks Championships next weekend – and you could be there for free, as we have FIFTY PAIRS of tickets to give away to this truly stunning event.

Some of the country's top pyrotechnic teams will compete for the much sought-after industry title of UK Champions during three days of explosive action from September 28-30.

ŠSet inŠSouthport's King's Gardens, Šthe amazing firework displays will be sychronised to music against the backdrop of the Marine Lake.

ŠThis year’s pyrotechnic companies include G Force Fireworks, Saltire Fireworks, Komodo Fireworks, Highlight Pyrotechnics, Britannia Fireworks, Phenomenal Fireworks and Celebration Displays.

Two competitors will battle it out on Friday, September 28, three on Saturday, September 29 and two on Sunday, September 30 with the overall champion announced after everyone has competed.

ŠSefton Council leader Cllr Peter Dowd said: "The Fireworks Championships is an event which literally lights up the whole of Southport.

Š"Every year the standard of competitors seems to get better and better. The displays attract thousands of people from Sefton and beyond.

“I am sure this year's event will be no different and hope as many people as possible support this fantastic spectacle."

Advance tickets cost £5 for the Friday, £7 for the Saturday and £5 for the Sunday.

Parking is not included.
