A BUDDING writer's dream was fulfilled last week, when the Crosby Herald arranged for her to meet her idol.
Alexandra McCormick, 12, of Netherton, is a keen author and has had both poems and short stories published through school competitions and independently.
On hearing of her talents, the Crosby Herald arranged for Alexandra to meet her inspiration, Jacqueline Wilson, as she has been greatly influenced by her work.
Wilson attended a book signing in Crosby last week, and was able to meet Alexandra before the event started, allowing her to talk about her future ambitions and to gain some handy hints.
During her visit, Wilson also signed copies of her newest release, Hetty Feather, and took part in a question and answer session.
With book sales topping 25 million in the UK alone, Wilson is one of the three best selling authors of the century.
She is also a former Children’s Laureate and was awarded a CBE by the Queen in 2008.
Alexandra, who attends Holy Family school in Thornton, has been a life-long fan of the writer and was very excited about coming face to face with her.
