Southport Dramatic Club gears up for a production of Goldilocks with a difference

ROLL Up, Roll Up! All the fun of the fair!

Yes, there is great excitement at the Little Theatre.

Goldilocks, her mother and the circus folk are arriving in Southport Little Theatre on Wednesday, December 19.

The Southport Dramatic Club Circus Panto is a must for all children, families, grandparents, mums and dads.

This year the show is directed by Sandy Town, who helmed another version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears back in 1994 and has updated the tale for 21st-century audiences.

Sandy said: “Don’t miss our beautiful Goldilocks!

“Making the title role her own is Jess Wall, who befriends the magnificent Three Bears and brings fame and fortune to the circus.

“With a little help from all her friends in the circus, including Joey Wizzbang, played by the inimitable Les Gomersall, and introducing the sumptuous Sadie Spangle, played by newcomer Trevor Ford, as her mother.

“Goldilocks encounters rival circus owner Wilbur Whack, played by Brendan Gillow, and mean old Pedro Twoface, played by Adrian Roberts, along the way.”

Sandy continued: “There is a twist in the traditional tale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears but children will be enchanted when they see the dear little house in the woods, and the much-loved fairy story brought to life.

“After much laughter, tears, some fights and lots of singing and dancing, Goldilocks falls in love with Ronnie the Ringmaster, played by Nathan Colman, and all ends well, thanks to the magic powers of a zany fairy called Belinda, played by Alice Burns.”

The show runs until Sunday, January 6, and box office for Goldilocks and the Three Bears is now open at the Little Theatre on Hoghton Street.
